Matching grant: MET!
Wow! Wow! Wow! God always provides for our adoptions! Every time He amazes me with who He uses, and how He does it! Every single time there are so many instances where we can clearly see His handiwork in the details! We are thrilled to share that our $5,000 matching grant with Lifesong has been met! Thank you to everyone who has donated. We are humbled and truly grateful!

Incredibly Exciting News!!!
We got fabulous news this week! Our dossier is complete and on it's way to Maddie's country! Finally! Now we wait to hear we have been submitted and have her referral.
God also provided in a HUGE way! Bethany and Lifesong have given us a $5,000 grant! That means they will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000. If we meet our goal, we will have $10,000 towards Maddie's adoption! We can't even express what a blessing this is to us. If you feel led to donate, please send checks made out to Lifesong with "Boroughs/#2965" adoption in the memo line, and mail to:

When words are inadequate
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
This week we got to visit with dear friends of ours who abandoned us relocated to the Chicago area. We have known each other since our soon-to-be-high-schoolers were in preschool. They are the kind of friends who stick by your side through thick and thin. I love telling them our family is growing, because they ALWAYS respond with love and support!
They have three beautiful daughters; Gabrielle, Anna, and Julia. Their middle daughter Anna is very gifted with theatrical talents, and yet, I am always impressed with her humility. During our visit, she walked up and handed me a card. I could barely see through my tears to read it as I was so touched. Anna decided that instead of receiving gifts at her 13th birthday party, she would ask all her friends to donate toward Maddie's adoption. They donated $210! It was truly one of the most touching and selfless things I have ever experienced.
Thank you, sweet Anna! I pray God blesses your kindness toward Maddie and our family. I know I will treasure your gesture in my heart forever.

>
> Last year at this time, we arrived home from nearly a month in Ukraine! A Judge had declared Samuel as our legal son, and we were counting down for the ten day waiting period to end so that Adam could spring him from the orphanage and bring him home forever. In some ways I can't believe that was a year ago, and yet I can barely remember Sam not being a member of our family. What a difference a year makes! So many "firsts" for Sam. We are blessed to call this special little boy ours! He is finishing his first year of school, has an amazing command of English, is playing baseball, celebrated his first Christmas and birthday, has learned to walk with a walker, and is learning to pop a wheelie in his wheelchair. Most importantly, he has learned that he is loved and treasured by a large extended family and a heavenly father who loves him even more than they ever could.
