Nothing is impossible with God

For years we have been asked how we intend to fund college for our kids. Our response has simply been we would trust God to make it happen. Obviously with our large family, saving large amounts of money for college just wasn't realistic. This year we encountered our first experience with this process, and for TWO kids at once! Can you say stressful? Wow, is this process a bit more complicated than we imagined. Our daughter Zoe was accepted to the Leadership Fellows Program at Eastern University. Between the scholarship for LFP and financial aid, outside scholarships, and hopefully a church matching grant, we feel like we are within reaching distance of her dream. Freddie has dreamed for years of attending Villanova University College of Nursing. It's a highly competitive program, but he was accepted into a small group (I believe 105 students) of incoming freshman. The financial aid package made us gasp. We couldn't possibly afford for him to attend. Last week we attended the Admitted Students weekend and I thought my heart would break. We love the program, it's a great fit for Freddie, and he has worked so hard to get in. We submitted an appeal to the financial aid office, and prayed. And cried, and prayed, and prayed. Today we were notified that Freddie was offered an additional scholarship for nursing students of over $16,000 for the year. God closed the gap of the impossible! He will need to keep applying for outside scholarships and will need to work, but he is officially enrolled at Villanova for Fall 2014!! God is amazing!
