Luke turned 10! His birthday theme was Thomas the Train, because he is a big fan. We celebrated early (but I'm posting late!), because Maddie had surgery.

Photo shoot gone wrong
I have truly adorable children, but trying to capture them in photographs....Well, see for yourself! The girls were cracking me up trying to get a decent picture of them in their matching dresses.

Happy Birthday Ivan!
It's hard to believe Ivan is now 17! He had a ninja turtles cake at home made by his older sister Caroline. We also celebrated at Mom-mom and Pop-pop's with a hulk theme. Ivan is such a blessing! He was our first adopted child with Down syndrome, and he inspired the adoption of his five younger siblings with DS.

I woke up to the heartbreaking news this morning that my dear friend Elizabeth had passed away. I know she is now healed and whole in the presence of Jesus, but oh how much she is missed! Elizabeth's life has impacted so many. She leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, and courage. She inspires me to love more, give more selflessly, and to persevere. It is because of Elizabeth that this precious little boy is home, and I am reminded of her everytime I look at his sweet face. Please pray for her beautiful family.
